Mental Health Wellbeing & Counselling

We Are Here For You

At New Beginnings, our counselling services are available for individuals aged 5 and above. We specialise in various therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, group therapy, humanistic therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). As integrative counsellors, we are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Wondering about the benefits of counseling and what to expect? We understand that taking the first step can be daunting. Counselling, as defined by the NHS, is a "talking therapy" where a trained therapist listens and helps you navigate emotional issues. It offers a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to discuss problems, worries, and challenging emotions.

Therapy is a personalised experience, and we tailor our counselling techniques to suit your unique situation. Whether through face-to-face, telephone, individual, group, couples, or online sessions, we provide flexibility to accommodate diverse preferences and lifestyles.

The Benefits of Counselling:

Counselling, or talking therapy, involves engaging with a trained professional to discuss and understand challenging feelings, manage issues, and recognise unhelpful patterns or behaviours. It offers a safe space without judgment, aiding in making sense of emotions and resolving complex issues. Counselling is not just a crisis intervention; it serves as a preventative measure, promoting self-care to manage difficulties before they escalate.

Types of Therapy:

The therapy type utilised depends on your needs and preferences. Common types include art therapy, cognitive therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), relationship counseling, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). It's normal to explore different techniques and counsellors to find what works best for you.

Our Counselling Services:

At New Beginnings, we offer discreet and confidential services, providing a welcoming and comfortable environment. Our approach is compassionate, empathetic, and respectful. We offer face-to-face, video, or telephone sessions, with session times of 60 minutes for individuals over 16 and 45 minutes for those aged 5-16.

If you're unable to speak to those around you and need support, our counseling services are available seven days a week. You can reach out to sgnewbeginning@outlook.com to schedule an appointment with one of our counsellors. Remember, you're not alone, and support is available.

Please note that while we provide comprehensive counselling, we are not qualified as crisis counsellors or equipped to handle individuals with eating disorders. If you're facing a mental health crisis or require immediate assistance, please contact the Crisis Team (North Lincolnshire) at 01724 382015, The Samaritans at 116123, or call 999 in case of a dangerous or emergency situation.
